jacob thought he had died and gone to heaven when the farmer arrived at our house this morning, on his john deere, to cut hay in the fields. with the sun shining hot and bright, pool filled up with ice-cold hose water, and The Tractor driving up and down the fields, we all spent the morning outside. what an exciting day! he was trying to get the farmer's attention by screaming...
and jacob has officially coined the word "hornk", meaning "to honk one's horn".
jacob kept asking to "sit on it" every time the tractor would pass by. i explained to him that the farmer was very busy and he didn't have time to stop and let us sit on it. isabel caught on quicker than jacob, and she was quick to remind us of this every time he passed. :) jacob got a little carried away with waving...
jacob ending his tractor viewing in a relaxed manner, right next to his pal jackson, in true doggy fashion.
kate was oblivious to all the excitement. she was in her own little world of playing with "big kid" toys while jacob and isabel were otherwise pre-occupied. she also took an occassional dip in the pool, but the water was way too cold to play in.
isabel spent most of her time in the pool. while the tractor was very exciting to her too, splashing in the water and playing "ring around the rosy" was her choice activity.
i kind of felt bad laying jacob down for nap, because mr. farmer was still hard at work in the next field over. i guess we have 1 more day of fun, watching them bale, but that will have to hold us over until the fall when they come to cut again.
